The NZALT Executive offers a Special Project Award to assist Language Associations in a language project or specific professional development programme for its members.
To recognise exceptional achievement in a field of second language learning, NZALT will provide certificates, suitably endorsed, for NZALT members to award to their students.
The New Zealand Language Teacher invites research articles on any matters connected with languages, language teaching and learning, curriculum and policy matters, and anything else which could be of interest to teachers of languages other than English.
Designed to recognise exellence in Learning through committment and dedication to studies, the LanguagePerfect PD award was first presented in 2013 with the inaurgural award presented to Mount Roskill Grammar School.

This award recognises the work of a member in the field of languages teaching in either the primary, secondary or tertiary sector.
Current members who teach up to and including Year 8 can apply for financial assistance for a language proficiency course.
