NZALT/Language Perfect "Design a Pen" Competition

Teacher Professional Development Languages Years 7-10 Awards 26 June 2010 TPDL assists existing and new teachers of languages improve their
language and culture knowledge and apply pedagogy that has a real
and positive impact on student learning.
Teachers can gain internationally recognised language qualifications
as well as accreditation in language teaching.
TPDL is a year-long programme funded by the Ministry of Education.
More than one teacher per school may apply.
Up to 60 places are available for teachers of Chinese, French,
German, Japanese and Spanish and up to 20 places for teachers of
Cook Islands Maori, Niuean, Samoan, Tongan and Tokelauan.
Native speakers of the language they are teaching may learn another
language.

Funding support for members to attend NZQA Moderation Workshops 17 May 2010 NZQA is holding a number of workshops around the country to support best practice in moderation. 12 NZALT members will be selected to have their attendance fee ($120) paid for by NZALT. NZALT Certificates of Excellence 2010 23 March 2010 NZALT makes available Certificates of Excellence for members to issue to their students for high levels of success in NCEA exams. The deadline for applying for Certificates of Excellence is 1 April (end of term 1). Click here for further details and to download an application form.

Please also remember that your password (if you haven't changed it manually) is case-sensitive and therefore needs a capital first letter. Many members contact us to ask that very question. There is also a Frequently Asked Questions section on the website with answers to other questions you might have. Please check there first before contacting NZALT.

Polyglot 2009 now available online

This year's Polyglot is now available for you to read online. Polyglot 2009 has passworded entry. Polyglot 2007 and 2008 are open access.
NZALT members have been sent an email containing the password for access to Polyglot. If you haven't received an email it could be for one of the following reasons:
- you aren't a current member of NZALT ;
- the email address you supplied to NZALT no longer exists ;
- the email address you supplied to NZALT has an error in it ;
- we don't have your email address.
If this is the case, please check your entry in the NZALT database and amend your email address if necessary. Please also send an email to the webmaster, in order to get the password.
