NZALT Represented at GURT 2016
In early March, 2016, Martin East had the privilege of attending the Georgetown University Round Table in Washington DC, thanks in part to the generous support of NZALT through its Professional Learning and Development fund, sponsored by Education Perfect.
The main purpose of his attendance was to be part of an invited colloquium looking at different dimensions of assessment for learning. His invited paper, which contributed alongside presentations from the UK and Australia, focused on the NCEA interact standard. In particular, he had the opportunity to introduce New Zealand's innovative new assessment to a world audience, and to engage in debate with several scholars about the challenges and opportunities that interact has brought to the New Zealand classroom.
A report on his attendance, with summaries of several presentations he attended, will be published in Polyglot.
