Do you sometimes wish you had access to more evidence of student writing to develop your professional knowledge about what constitutes an achieved, merit or excellence standard in writing?
NZALT has collated writing samples from students around New Zealand from the 2005 external writing achievement standards.
Purpose
Teachers and students will benefit from discussing what constitutes a good piece of writing that leads to an achieved, merit or excellence standard.
The samples will provide good models of writing at the various achievement levels so that students (and teachers) can analyse how to develop a piece of writing with a range of vocabulary and structures.
