Student Competition 2010 : NZALT/Language Perfect "Design a Pen"

This year's competition was to design a slogan that promotes your language.

The results were announced at Conference in Queenstown. Click here to view the winning results.

The winning design in each category will be produced as pens and will be available later in the year for purchase by members.

NZALT  - Language Perfect Vocabulary Olympics 9-22 August 2010

NZALT is once again sponsoring the certificates for this year's Vocabulary Olympics in August this year.  Registrations open on 1 July.

NZALT Certificate of Excellence

Rationale

To recognise exceptional achievement in a field of second language learning, NZALT will provide certificates, suitably endorsed, for NZALT members to award to their students.

Guidelines

1. Applications for the certificate are to be directed to the local Regional Officer. The deadline for applications to be in is the end of term 1.

2. Certificates are for students in Years 11 to 13.

3. These certificates are intended to recognise the achievement of second-language learners only.

4. The student's teacher must be a current member of NZALT.

5. Applications must state:
     a.  candidate's name (correctly spelt)
     b.  language learned;
     c.  school attended;
     d.  evidence of achievement;
     e.  name(s) and position(s) of teacher(s) making application;
     f.   the citation which will be written on the certificate.

6. Eligibility : a student is eligible to receive a Certificate of Excellence if s/he has gained, in a language in any one year, at least:
    four Excellences for Level 1
or
    three Excellences for Level 2 / Level 3

 


  To apply for Certificates of Excellence for your students, click here to download a request form. Please forward it to your Regional Officer by the end of term 1. We then send the certificates to the printers for delivery by the end of Term 2.
