Student Competition 2008

Students design their own New Zealand stamp for the International Year of Languages. Winning entries are to have their design made into a real stamp for posting within New Zealand.

NZALT Certificate of Excellence

Rationale

To recognise exceptional achievement in a field of second language learning, NZALT will provide certificates, suitably endorsed, for NZALT members to award to their students.

Guidelines

1. Applications for the certificate are to be directed to the local Regional Officer.

2. Certificates are for students in Years 11 to 13.

3. These certificates are intended to recognise the achievement of second-language learners only.

4. The student's teacher must be a current member of NZALT.

5. Applications must state:
     a.  candidate's name (correctly spelt)
     b.  language learned;
     c.  school attended;
     d.  evidence of achievement;
     e.  name(s) and position(s) of teacher(s) making application;
     f.   the citation which will be written on the certificate.

6. Eligibility : a student is eligible to receive a Certificate of Excellence if s/he has gained, in a language in any one year, at least:
    four Excellences for Level 1
or
    three Excellences for Level 2 / Level 3
